Written on the tombstone of Hasan Djalal: "The Great king Djalal has built this (Gandzasar) magnificent and stony church in 665 (1216) with the will of his father by decorating it with all possible pictures (decorations) and finished with the will of his Djalal Dovle and wife Mamkan in 687 (1238)".  A writing under a font in the Gandzasar monaster: " The church is blessd in 689 (1240) in the patriarchy of Ter-Nerses, the Albanian Catalicos".

A tombstone next to the Gandzasar monastery: "Here lies the grave of Grirgoris, the Albanian Catolicos in 1102 (1635)".

A priest from the village of Talish Apav, left a writing on the roof the Gandzasar monastery which he repaired: " With our righteous resources, we repaired the roofs and destroyed walls of the churches in our holy throne of Aghvanian Gandzasar"
